The sea and coastline may bring to mind special memories of outings in the summer,  childhood holidays or simply taking a stroll alongside the sea. We all have our preferred coastal bays, ocean views and sandy beaches.

As we reminisce about these times, Summer 2011 has witnessed a trend which has been reinvented and has crept into the greetings, homeware and kitchenware industry once again. We notice a collective buzz involving blue stripes, lighthouse designs and the patriotic ‘red, blue and white’ colour schemes. Image Source have a range of images available which provide a cute nostalgic feel including: –  Beach hut patterns and boats by Paulo Viveiros, Lighthouses by Louise Rawlings and new artist, Anna Platts.  Abstract nautical scenes can be viewed in the Emma Freeman portfolio plus much, much more. Traditional coastal scenes are available from artists Rob Fathers, Christopher Osborne and Tony Ryan with Contemporary artworks being displayed by Nicola Gregory.
